What is a computer?

  • Can you tell what a computer is?
    Gnerally means a programmable machine. The two principal characteristics of a computer are: it ponds to a specific set of instructions in a well-defined manner and it canexecute a prerecorded list of instructions.
  • When was the first computer made? The first computer, the ENIAC machine (1946) used 18,000 vacuum tubes  and trequired 167 square meters (1800 square feet) of floor space.
  • Where can we find computers today?

  • What are they used for?
